Summary:
Under supervision of the HIT Manager, the position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the EMR and IT related operations of SCPCC.
This position is responsible for supporting all activities related to the HIT department and the integrity of clinical data.

Responsibilities:
I.
Informatics 1.
Responsible for responding to and addressing problem tickets from staff with regards to EMR (eClinicalWorks) related issues and other computer issues.
2.
Proving on-call availability for emergent IT and internet connectivity issues.
3.
Supports various medical equipment operational and technical needs related to the EMR.
4.
Assist with support for user accounts as needed.
5.
Provide systems, desktop and applications support for multiple offices.
6.
Assist in training employees in using our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, as needed.
7.
Troubleshoots issues or escalates requests to the appropriate internal resources or third party support vendor.
8.
Regularly conducts speed tests according to location configuration.
9.
Install and configure operating systems, software, network devices, printers, scanners, etc.
as required.
10.
Maintain existing computers and equipment by performing upgrades, new installations, troubleshooting, and carrying out routine quality checks.
11.
Provide technical support and training to new and existing users.
12.
Ensures the company IT resources are utilized appropriately.
13.
Coordinates computer system operations with contracted I/S Vendors.
14.
Other duties as assigned.
II.
Infrastructure 1.
Ensures that computer systems in use will best support the Staff in their delivery of Patient Care.
2.
Accessing phone system extensions and menu trees, as required.
3.
Responsible for reviewing the inventory of computers and IT equipment not inventoried by the IT Vendor.
4.
Submitting regular updates on the state of the network and trends in the problem tickets to the HIT Manager.

Knowledge in diagnosing IT issues, testing, and configuring operating systems.
6.
Possess exceptional customer service skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

8.
Ability to make independent decisions and maintain a high level of responsibility and dependability.
Qualifications:
1.
Associate degree or diploma preferred in Health Informatics, Computer Support, or related field of study.
2.
Prefers a minimum of 1 year of experience as an IT/Support Technician.
3.
Requires a high degree of initiative, independent judgment, discretion, analysis, and organizational skills.
Training in computer support, software applications, hardware, databases, application servers and networking preferred.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires full range of body motion, finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

This position has access to systems and/or services that contain protected health information (PHI) as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
Additionally, the position ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and supporting GAPHC policies and procedures.
